Perfect Conversation

Have you ever tried to really communicate with someone. Yearned for that perfect conversation that comes too seldom and leaves too quickly, leaving you with emptiness and the fear that you may never again feel the same clarity as you did mid sentence? I am searching for the perfect conversation…

People are too fearful to be open, to think upon those unspoken truths of life and death and what ever fills the in-between. I am here to ask those questions. Those philosophical questions. We go together through these questions into the unknown, for we may never know. Yet…we have hope, because it is in our nature to hope and to ask.

In the process of asking these questions I ask you the readers to ask…ask what is filling your soul…what is filling your thoughts. Ask so that we the readers may feel confidence in the unknowing and share with one another.

I begin by asking one question. Mind you there are no answers we are just building towards something greater than one mind. A civilization of thoughts. We build the imaginary world of thought into a reality. Please share your questions so that we may build the perfect conversation.

“The time has come,” the Walrus said,”To talk of many things…” (Lewis Carroll)

Life
Fact of existence…

“Life is as tedious as a twice-told tale, vexing the dull ear of a drowsy man” (Shakespeare)

Imagine life in the context it is…day to day drone of ordinary, then surprises…new things…occupy time…what have we but a damaged world, a beautiful world, a sad world, a new world to the born, an old to the dying. What next? What have we next? Life is a treasure discovered hidden beneath the sea. A secret found within pages of old text. A language lost with the sounds of time. A breath swept among the winds of change.
What is life?

  1. Life is simply all. It’s existence, it’s what happens. We try to find meaning and identify our place in relation to everything else, but because our perspective is sort of myopic, all we can ever sense of life is a fraction of the totality.

Life is everything that exists and its relationship to everything else. We and our perceptions are manifestations of life, of existence. Our lives are like a desert mirage, shimmering above the reality of existence in the distance above a desert of incomprehension. We find meaning in seeking to comprehend.

Check out a post I wrote addressing some related stuff:

Personally, I think the secret of life is that there is none. The meaning of life, however—according to an answer I posted on Yahoo Answers sometime back:

“It’s a 17oz New York Strip with a pint of Guinness. Before that it used to be chicken fettucini with a good white wine, pale ale or a Heineken—but there have been advances in science and medicine since then. We now know red meat and and two beers a day will make you live, longer, happier and more manly than chicken, tofu and vegan diets…”

Anyway, you seem like a bit of a dreamer and idealist, which are good things. Nice to know there are a few others out there. Love your writing style too.

I shall have to explore your site now…

  2. A concept known as infinity exists, that, by definiton, incorporates everything; it essentially “cancels” itself out(easy to think of in terms of numbers: positive infinity + negative infinity = 0(however those are merely two out of infinite realms of infinity, so you must take into account all of everything) and is actually nothing. Thus, infinity yields nothingness. Basically, if you could take yourself out of infinity to look in on it, you could not find it or look to it because it truly is nothing. Being nothing is not really being at all(and i would imagine would be quite boring!). Enter life as a mere mechanism in which we are able to experience infinity rather than be nothing.

  3. Life may define in various means, it depends with the perspective of such person on how she/he finds life about. for me “life” is a way of living in a particular place or group. Each of us has the freedom on how we wanted to live our life,,,,,, We are the master and captain of our life, its our choce where will this world bring us. Its our own choice if we wish to live in life of happiness and contentment. And in life we continue learning and continue understand thing w/c we found confusing.

  4. Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans :)…….

  5. Life is a brilliant expression of ever changing possibilities. It is the sum of our experiences and the promise of our tomorrows. It is the tenuous flame of a single candle and the roar of a bonfire.

Life is what connects us all, be it measured in the minutes and hours for the mayfly or the decades and centuries for the redwood.

    Life is…good.

  6. Life should be a search for peace, grace, and nobility.

Along the way, savor each moment, delight in the simple gestures, and a child’s smile.

Find divinity in the setting sun, rising moon, and the soaring bird.

Life is a journey we make only once so live it to the fullest each day, close to your loved ones, yourself, and trust in our providence…….

  7. m6fan…power are in those words…do you feel it?

    Thank You

  8. Yes…truly.

  9. Actually, I have many perfect conversations. And you’re right, once you’ve had them you keep longing for more of them. Mostly I attribute them to the people I had them with. And I have a funny feeling that they would attribute them to me.
I also have had many conversations with people/friends that although I’ve known them for years never reach that ‘perfect’ stage that I think you are describing.
Haven’t really thought much about all that but I’ll use my train ride home to think about it.
    Thanks! :-)
PS. Somehow I think the two of us wouldn’t have a problem having those types of converstations.

  10. (((Spaz)))…I long for great conversation, I feel alone sometimes when I can not have intelligent conversation..and you are right…we would have no trouble having a GREAT conversation!!

  11. [...] Why they are… indeed. The fundamental philosophical question. Why? Why are we? Now imagine this, a conversation with an abstract, something abstract made tangible for conversation with you, with me… I have had many of these conversations and am working towards that “perfect conversation“. [...]

  12. Jesus said “do not cast your pearls before swine…” And I’ve come to realize the great wisdom in that.

Once I was having this discussion with a friend, many years ago. She said, “you can’t trust people” and I replied… “well, who can you trust then?” and she said… “YOURSELF!”

Today I’d add that even above that, we can trust God. And God for me isn’t just naturalistic pantheism. From my perspective God is far, far greater than that. :-)

  13. Michael… God is far greater than that… Thank You for stopping by and voicing your thoughts… and your wisdom…
